Is on-line
learning all "smoke and mirrors"?
Every type of on-line course is being described as a VLE
(Virtual Learning Environment) these days. All too
often a VLE is seen as a cheap means of turning out the
same old courses. This misses much of the potential value
of on-line learning.
The learning communities that we build are
composed of real people using the web as a
means of connecting, collaborating and learning
together.
There's
nothing "virtual" about the learning that flows from our
very real learning environments!
We generally base our on-line solutions on the highly
acclaimed Moodle course
management system which is founded on sound pedagogical
principles, to create highly effective and accessible
online learning communities.
From a simple single topic course to an integrated suite of
programmes with learner grading and automated enrolment,
log-in and reporting, anything is possible. The environment
can be built to reflect your style and image and to sit so
closely alongside your existing website that it will be
difficult to see the join.
As well as the asynchronous learning which the core Moodle
set-up enables, we able also able to offer and facilitate
virtual rooms, where up to two to a hundred participants
can connect for live
presentations (click this link to see the
system we use, in action with individual learners) and
discussion with teachers and colleagues.
Whether for developing your own staff or learners or as
part of a customer service programme to add value to your
offering we can ensure that you get the environment you
need and that you can be sure that it is delivering the
results you need.
