There is an exhilaration about working in a team of talented people. Of course it used to happen when we had factories and organisations were centred in one location. Much of the work we undertake entails collaboration with colleagues around the UK or across the world.
The explosion in telecommunication has opened up options for collaboration which were not even dreamed of a few years ago. All sorts of low- or no-cost tools are available to us. Indeed, there are almost too many such tools and decisions have to be made about how they will be selected and blended together to be maximise effectiveness and minimise confusion.
Failure to get the mix right or to use the tools intelligently can turn no-cost tools into time-consuming exercises. Unfortunately, choosing the more expensive higher cost options doesn’t guarantee success.
At this stage of the evolution of on-line collaboration, clients often find the process something of an eye-opener and adopt the same tools for use in their own organisation. We can support that too.
