Key Skills
Support Programme
Learning
for Work manages the provision of
support to training providers, under the
Key Skills Support Programme, on behalf of
the Department for Education and Skills.
We have worked with LfW since 1999 on the development of training support materials (Leading from the Top, Marketing Key Skills, Working with Employers, Preparing for the Key Skills Tests) and in co-authoring guides to good practice Working with Employers and The Application of Number.
The good practice guides and interactive CD-ROMs that we co-developed have been exceptionally well received and have been reprinted at regular intervals since their original publication.

Thinking
About Drinking
BNTL
Freeway is
a major national charity with concerns
about teenage alcohol consumption which
commissioned us to research and write a
classroom teaching pack for primary
schools to put across the dangers of
under-age drinking.

The product has been distributed to over 20,000 schools in the UK and such was the response that we were asked to produce a further version for primary schools and a new pack on Basic Drugs Awareness.
Whole Brain
Learning
Working
closely with education publisher
Lernia Ltd.,
we researched and wrote a programme for schools
to develop pupils’ capacity for learning
–
Whole Brain Learning.
The product consists of detailed lesson plans, illustrations, activity sheets, video and audio materials. The materials are presented as a combination of print and CD-ROM, with separate versions for primary and secondary age-groups.
Moving from print to digital media, we have made the teaching materials interactive and very simple to navigate. Hard-copy can be printed by teachers as required and the increased flexibility enables tailored use in schools.
