Audio and video production
Having spent formative years in the music
business, the power of sound and images has
always been clear to me. The availability of
low-cost digital production tools has let to an
explosion of audio and visual content.
Unfortunately the old adage is as true as ever.
“The weakest point in any audio or video
system is the nut behind the viewfinder.”
It is surprising how many times potential
clients tell us that they want a CD or a DVD!
Of course, what they really want is clarity
about their communication need, a
thought-through solution implemented
effectively, with imagination, flair and
credibility so that it complements other
aspects of their situation and delivers the
required solution. ... Oh, and on a CD or DVD.
However, we might well talk about using the web
or a podcast ...
On-line learning took another step forward in usability and immediacy in 2005 with the first podcast developed specifically for a UK government programme. Keycast was devised, produced and edited by Integral for the Key Skills Support Programme.
With some 1500 subscribers training provider staff were able to stay up-to-date without interrupting their work for external courses and meetings.
